Nutrient Dense Foods

If you want to improve your health through nutrition eat nutrient dense foods. Foods that energize, and heal. Whole foods, not processed foods.

If you are unfamiliar with the term and with the type of foods that are nutrient dense see my post Eat Yourself Healthy.

When focusing on eating healthy, it’s important not to overlook a very important nutrient dense ingredient—Air!

Air is highly nutrient dense. As nourishment for our lungs and bloodstream it revitalizes, energizes, heals, calms, massages, strengthens.

When we breathe without thinking our breathing is generally shallow. That’s why it’s good to take time during the day to breathe deeply.

Five and Five

Breathing deeply does so much for our bodies that a healthy goal would be to take 5 deep breaths, 5 times a day.

It’s easy. Breathe deeply before each meal and then twice during the day.

If you can step outside and breathe fresh air–even better. If that isn’t possible, just taking a minute at your desk to take 5 deep belly breaths will do wonders for you.

Visualize the air coming in through your nose, going down to your lungs and then filling up your belly.
Count to 5 as you inhale. Then count to 5 as you slowly exhale.

Do that 5 times and you are done.

Here are a few of the benefits you will get as you do this. Breathing…

  • releases tension
  • clears your head
  • relaxes your body
  • relieves pain
  • boosts your energy
  • detoxifies
