The term “Lifestyle Change” is one of the most overused of the recent decade in my opinion. Why is that? Experts will tell us that the majority of us eat too much junk food, or we don’t eat enough healthy foods. We exercise too little or play too hard. We worry too much, and BREATHE too little. We live in the past rather than in the present. The bottom line–our lives are out of balance, off kilter, out of whack. So because of that we need to make a Lifestyle Change.
So what to do? The media would suggest we get off one merry-go-round and get on another. They present us with shows like the Biggest Loser and we watch participants work 10 hours a day to lose that weight or get fit. But is that really a good solution?
I think not.
Going from one extreme to the other just creates Yo-Yo behavior. It’s not sustainable. We could eliminate all that if we just tried to find balance in all aspects of our lives. Balance is the key, whether it refers to food, exercise, or stress. An overabundance of anything is what puts us out of whack. So today work towards achieving balance in all that you do, whether it’s eating, sleeping, playing couch potato or breathing.
Work towards balance in your life and your life will change naturally as a result.
