It may sound strange but it’s true, you CAN lose weight by eating more. Everything depends on the what, and the when. What you eat and when you eat it can determine whether or not your metabolism will work for you or will shut down and go into Fat Storage Mode. Dr. Pamela Avery describes the process very clearly. Here is her explanation reprinted here: Eat More Lose Weight by Dr Pamela Avery
Interesting article. Much like what I’ve done…starve is better. Less food you eat the more weight you loose!!! Wrong….it will be interesting to see how this new diet will work for me. Eating low glycemic foods, lots of them and see what the scale says…. I am so excited about this diet…. Thank you.
Dianne
This is a great lesson to learn Dianne. I made the same mistake years ago thinking I had to starve myself to lose weight. I hated how that felt! This option is so much better. We just have to learn which foods to eat. And don’t forget, this isn’t a diet. That has such negative connotations. It’s a lifestyle you’ll learn to love for many years. Great start you had with week 1!!! Keep up the good work!
The article is very interesting. I’am glad that I joined your program.

I’m glad you joined the program too Ruth. You are doing great after your first week! Just keep it up! You are on your way to a “new you!”
Good article. This is the hardest thing for me, especially on my days off.I just get up and start errands, relize that I haven’t eaten, but don’t want to get fast food. End result, its 5 or 6 pm before I eat anything. Bad habit – needs to change.
Julie, you would be surprised that this is a very common problem. And it is a huge factor in weight gain. Identifying this and then working to change it is a big step in the right direction. I call it the Bear Hibernation Syndrome. When bears hibernate they don’t eat so their metabolism shuts down and the body stores fat as long as possible. When you don’t eat the first thing in the morning, your metabolism shuts down and hibernates so all the fat you have stored stays where it is. But worse, your organs are not getting the nutrients they need to serve you well. So if you want your body to function properly you need to fuel it at regular intervals and that means starting from the time you wake up in the morning. Keep this in mind when you are tempted to skip a meal or two. Thanks for bringing up this very important point.
j’aime beaucoup cet article, cependant je pensais qu’il y aurait peut être une ou deux choses à rajouter !
On pourrait rajouter plusieurs choses en vérité mais il faut au moins commencer. =)
