Exercise and Aging
We may not like to hear it but exercise as we age is very important. According to USA Today, exercise is actually MORE important as we age. It not only benefits our muscles but it’s good for our bones, flexibility, balance, brains and our immune system. For people struggling with sluggish metabolisms, exercise is key. Low glycemic index eating or lean and clean eating which eliminates processed foods and sugars and focuses on whole foods is the perfect way to wake up the metabolism. A regimen of that sort along with exercise is a great way to find the balance your body needs. The mantra I love to remember is: “muscle dictates metabolism”. The good news for those who find it hard to move their mass is that exercise can be addictive! The more you do it, the better you feel and the better you feel, the more you want to do it.
Here is a great article on why exercise is more important as we age.
If you’re over 50 and are not exercising, it’s time to start.
Enjoyed reading the article. I know exercise is good for everyone.
